Willemijn van der Werf

Willemijn van der Werf has worked in sustainable business development for over 12 years now. She started in commercial roles at KLM Cargo in 2002. After a few years abroad for KLM, she started dedicating her working life to sustainable innovations. At first, also at KLM, developing sustainable biofuels and connecting the values of the 'green' NGO world with the commercial KLM as Corporate Manager Environmental Strategy.

Thereafter, Willemijn continued her experience in developing sustainable innovations at LanzaTech; she worked on the implementation, financial feasibility and societal acceptance of the usage of waste streams for fuels and chemicals. In 2016 she started at TNO as Senior Business Developer Circular Economy, focusing on the materials transition in the built environment, encountering the same environmental, societal and financial challenges.

In spring 2020 she will start as Director Business Development Asia from our Taipei office in Taiwan.

I'm very enthusiastic about the opportunities a sustainable and circular economy can bring to keep our planet healthy, which is important as we borrow our planet from the next generations. My specialty has become to work on the interface of innovations and sustainability, focussing on the challenges of these greenfield developments.
